I am a CELTA-qualified native English speaker with several years' experience teaching English as a foreign language in the UK (Alba English, Randolph School of English, both in Edinburgh), France (Les Petits Bilingues, Paris), Spain (Escuela Oficial de Idiomas, Santander; Instituto Hemingway, Bilbao) and Germany (teaching intern in various high schools).
I have a first class undergraduate degree from Durham University in French, German and Spanish and I speak these languages fluently. I have taught French, German and Spanish informally and would like to teach them online as well as teaching English. I have a masters degree in translating and interpreting from Bath University, so am also qualified to translate, interpret and proofread. I have translated and proofread several publications, including historical, legal and scientific texts.
Recently, I gained masters degrees in psychology and neuroscience and am now studying medicine in order to become a doctor. I work part-time on a quasi-freelance basis as a nurse assistant in numerous Scottish hospitals.
In my free time, I enjoy amateur dramatics, singing, dancing and a variety of sports, such as badminton, tennis, golf, squash and hiking. I like drawing/painting, reading, cooking/baking, and I have recently taken up rollerblading/ice skating.
Similar to freelance contract where I assist nurses with the day-to-day care of patients in hospitals (feeding, washing, dressing etc)
