Über Mich

Hello everyone! My name is Charlotte, and I am from Manchester in the North West of England. I am a qualified TEFL teacher (Teaching English as a Foreign Language), and I am currently teaching English in Italy to high school students. I have an excellent knowledge of English grammar and have studied English at University. I also have a BSc degree in Speech and Language Therapy, so I am well equipped to help you with any specific pronunciation problems.

This degree was theoretical and practical, involving clinical placements. I worked with both adults and children as part of my studies. Children with developmental delays in their speech, and adults, who may have acquired a speech or language difficulty due to a medical problem, such as a stroke or head injury. I have worked with a range of people helping them improve their speech, language and overall communication skills. Therapy always begins with setting individualised GOALS alongside the person. This is the same approach I will use in my English teaching. We will begin by discussing what it is you hope to achieve from our English lessons. NEXT, we will break down these BIG goals into SMALL, EASY steps.

This degree combined both English Language and Media. I studied how the English Language has developed and changed over time and how English is used differently across media texts, such as magazines, newspapers and television broadcasts.
