Hello! I am a teacher and artist from San Diego, California. I am fluent in English, I also know a bit of French, Spanish and American Sign Language.
What you will get if you choose to schedule a lesson with me:
PERSONALIZED LESSONS tailored to suit your interests, needs, and motivation for learning English. Our lessons can be as serious or as silly as you like.
I believe in a strengths and interests based approach to learning/teaching. I will want to get to know you a bit, mainly why you are learning English and what your interests are. From there we can determine the types of content and lesson style that best suits you and your needs.
I will develop and select lesson plans just for you.
I think it is important to maintain a sense of humour, and have fun. We will work on topics and subjects that are interesting and relevant to YOU. We can go over grammar topics, read and discuss articles/movies, practice interview questions. We can work on sets of vocabulary such as business english, conversational, slang etc.
It is up to you how we structure each class. We can follow rigid lesson plans or practice conversational english with a casual chat. Most of my classes tend to be a combination of formal and informal instruction.
I have a Bachelor's Degree in education and am in the process of completing my TEFL Certification. I have 8 years experience teaching in a variety of environments. I have experience with teaching English learners of all levels, and from all over the world.
I have taught English/language skills online as well as in schools, homes, therapy centers, and a variety of other environments to both children and adults. I have experience with one on one and group lessons, and assesments. I have also taught art and other academic subjects. I love meeting and working with people from around the world.
I develop individualised lesson plans as well as collect and reference materials from online, textbooks and other resources. I am always adding to my collection of resources.
A BIT MORE ABOUT ME
In addition to teaching I also create and sell my artwork online. My hobbies include arts and crafts, hiking, camping, traveling, and yoga. I have been to over 20 countries (and counting) and love experiencing and learning about different cultures.
