A native British English speaker, now in my forties, I’ve been passionate about language learning since school. I studied Modern Languages at university in the UK. Informal teaching over the years led me to consider a change of career, following a sabbatical in Colombia in 2014. I did my CELTA teacher training at the end of 2016 and moved back to Colombia to start a new chapter of life in January 2017 - and haven’t looked back! I am now working part-time at one of Bogotá’s best universities, and teaching a wide variety of privately classes too.
Being a good teacher is all about working with the student to find the way that works for them. It’s about connecting language learning with real life, making sense of English in a particular context and recognizing a student’s personal needs, challenges and learning style.
