Hello, Verbling Friends. My name is Bill. I have been teaching Korean to beginners online and offline for 3 years. I graduated from Cameron University, Oklahoma, USA. My major is called International Languages which the students choose two foreign languages to study. I speak English, Korean, and Spanish. I have various experiences of language learning. So, I understand how frustrating language learning is whenever students face problems and their language skill is not being improved. My teaching program has four sections. Each program also has particular materials for students. You can choose one of them for your lessons below: 1. Regular Course: it covers all parts of learning from the beginning: reading, grammar, speaking, listening, and writing. 2. Focus on Grammar: If you have some knowledge of Korean and want to recall what you learned, this is the good option to choose. 3. Pronunciation Doctor: this is for someone who is not confident with their Korean pronunciation. I use a book that helps learners improve their pronunciation. We listen audio files and practice together during the lesson. 4. Free conversation: In this section, we talk to each other freely in Korean. I deliberately speak slowly to students so that they become confident of their listening, understanding, and eventually speaking. My philosophy for language learning is simple: it should be funny. The reason why is that it requires long hours of practice and repetition. Sometimes, students lose their interest in learning more, but when you begin to speak, understand the language, and deliver your message to native speakers, the feeling is amazing. Trust me. I saw many people who challenge other languages afterwards. I am also one of them. Please feel free to ask, and do not hesitate to make class reservation. Thanks all! See you soon!

Hello! My name is Heeyoung, and I'm a native Korean living in France with a French husband! Because I lived outside my home country for so long, I deeply relate to those who are going through the same and I enjoy getting to know about my students on a personal level. I've had many students of different levels and nationalities over a course of three years, and I look forward to meeting everyone who's interested in starting or continuing their journey in learning Korean. { TEACHING METHODS } 1. BEGINNERS Goal: Reading Korean effortlessly and feeling comfortable with basic conversation. - Hangeul (Korean alphabets) / Reading words - Pronunciation and intonation correction - Basic grammar including past and future tense / Informal polite form (-요) / Learning how to greet, ask questions and answer, and talk about locations, family, food, weather, your emotions and everyday life / Common expressions / Getting used to the different particles 은/는, 이/가, 을/를 etc. We'll learn basic grammar and sentence structures and practice reading and speaking through short dialogues. I'll be teaching mostly in English at first but I'll start to limit it whenever possible. 2. PRE-INTERMEDIATE ~ INTERMEDIATE Goal: Having longer free conversations about everyday life and on a given topic. - Getting used to different levels of politeness, mainly the honorific form (-시-) and informal casual. - Advanced grammar including reported speech and common sentence endings (-네요, -잖아요, -냐고요? -지요?) For this level, I'll be using textbooks with audios to listen to. I'll only try to use English when explaining grammar or something complicated. 3. ADVANCED Goal: Talking freely and speaking naturally like a native. If uncomfortable or limited in free conversation, I'll offer materials to read or listen to and we'll talk about them together.

I completed certificate course in teaching korean as a second language for foreigners. I worked at korean language academy and I met many students from Japan, America, U.K, Canada, Portugal and taught them Korean. I also taught korean as a volunteer worker at the church, though I don't belong to any religion. I just liked to teach korean and help foreign workers who want to learn korean. After I quitted these works, I've been taught some students as a tutor. I taught and helped them to get TOPIK certificate. Though that practical experiences, I could learn more like making a effective teaching plan, methods of teaching, communication skill with students. I always tried to give interesting class with enthusiasm. Happily, students liked my class and also said that I am a good teacher. I feel worth when students say like that. But I feel worth most, when I see the improvement of students' Korean. I think that is the why I want to teach Korean.
