Hello, I`m Ginger and would love to get to know you. I've been teaching for almost 17 years now. My classes are engaging and practical. For example, I use articles, slangs, and specific vocabulary for your area of work/interest. I love to chat about anything and everything and look forward to helping you learn more through fun and natural conversation. I can also help you prepare for presentations, job interviews and practice role-playing real-life scenarios. I look forward to meeting / helping you.
I'm not going to lecture you about things which you do not need to know to speak English. Instead, I'm going to help you to tell me about your work, projects, interests, plans, and hopes, so when the time comes you can speak with people you care about and use the language to change your life. I use conversations and materials that are relevant to you in order to facilitate this. I will also help ensure that you can listen and understand the language through concept checking questions about specific information or ideas that have been presented. If you are making grammar errors the corrections will be explained without complex grammar terminology. How is this possible? I explain grammar using plain language and examples for most of my students. Why should I call "can" a "modal verb" when I can call it a "a word to express that the subject has the ability to perform an action or has permission to perform it." If you are studying to be a language teacher or major in linguistics it is very useful to know that "can" is classified as a modal verb, if you are not, it is unnecessary. Here is an example of how grammar is taught by me: You tell me, "Gary, I go to store if I want. The social distancing rules allow it and my car still works well enough to take me there." I say to you, "It should be, I can go to the store if I want." and then I add, "The reason for adding "can" to the action "go" in this sentence is to express the ability to do something as well as to have permission to do it. To be able to go to the store means you can complete the action if you choose to do so because your car works and it will take you there and the action is permitted because it can be completed without breaking the social distancing rules." Welcome to English the easy way. The way it is taught when the teacher knows how to take something complicated and make it simple for you to understand; it is essentially the primary reason you are paying the teacher instead of just reading a grammar book by yourself. None of this is revolutionary, yet much of this is not commonly found online or in the classroom. I know because I've looked. You can find my reviews from clients near the bottom of this page. I offer discounts for students enrolled in secondary school or university, orphans, senior citizens, government servants, refugees, military members and veterans. If you are living in an economically depressed country you may also write me to apply for a discount. Please message me before booking so I can apply the discount.

Hello! I love talking to people and facilitating their learning. I have a post-graduate teaching qualification (PGCE) from the UK and TEFL certificate, with a wide experience in education, and I have given courses to people aged 3-63 for several years. I have also recently completed a Teaching IELTS and a Business English TEFL course. I aim to create a relaxed and enjoyable teaching environment, whilst being thorough and working with each student's needs, and I am easy to talk to! So don't worry if you are nervous or don't feel confident - I can help you with that. Have you forgotten your English? Know how to read and write, but afraid to speak...? Would you like to practise your English more often? I can help you to improve your English! The sessions concentrate on the practical use of the language, conversation and pronunciation. They are mainly intended to be a relaxed and enjoyable method of learning and to get used to speaking, but can also be combined with grammar and can be adapted to suit all ages and levels (although I am not currently taking complete beginners, sorry). I can also offer intensive courses. I often work with students of intermediate-advanced levels to help perfect their spoken English. I have helped students prepare for IELTS, TOEFL and Cambridge speaking exams - a recent student of mine got 111/120 on the TOEFL exam! I have also assisted students with confidence, to achieve more natural rhythm and intonation, and even issues concerning being understood, communicating effectively, politeness and cultural differences in language!! **Dear current students! If you can't find the time you want, you can send me a message**

A native British English speaker, I have been passionate about language learning since school. I studied Modern Languages at university in the UK, so understand the challenges of language learning from the student's perspective too. I did Cambridge CELTA teacher training at the end of 2016 (after years of informal teaching) and moved to Colombia to start a new chapter of life in January 2017. I taught at Universidad del Rosario, and also taught a wide variety of private classes with Colombian and international adults and children, in person and online. Now back in the UK, I teach learners of all ages, abilities, backgrounds and contexts. I love the variety of students and the breadth of teaching skills that entails. I have top qualifications and extensive experience, in general, business and academic English, as well as in Cambridge, IELTS and TOEFL international exams. Being a good teacher is all about working with the student to find the personalized way that works most effectively for them to grow in confidence and achieve their goals. It’s about connecting language learning with real life, making sense of English in a particular context and recognizing a student’s personal needs, challenges and learning style. I do currently have capacity for working with new students. If the schedule is not showing your preferred time, please do contact me and I will do my very best to find a space that suits you. Let's do this :-)
