Hello Friend! I hope you're having a great day! My name is Brent and I am from Santa Rosa, California. My hometown is in the California wine country, a beautiful place with outstanding weather. I have lived in Japan for thirteen years. I lived in Osaka for one year and then moved to Tokyo. I came to Japan because I am a poet and I love haiku. Japan is a wonderful country that has changed me in many positive ways. And the sushi...wow. I graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Literature/Poetry with a Minor in Education from the University of California, Santa Cruz. I am currently pursuing my Masters degree in Teaching English as a Second Language. My interests include haiku, hiking, comedy, studying Japanese, reading, food, traveling, baseball, and music. I am a very curious person and I enjoy learning about others' hobbies and interests. As a language learner myself, I understand the challenges involved with learning languages, which helps me address student concerns and needs in a constructive way. I teach all kinds of English, including general conversation, business English, TOEIC, TOEFL, Eiken, and kids lessons. I teach a wide range of ages, from two months old to eighty years old. Let me customize English lessons for you. We can use any books, newspapers, movies, songs, or other learning materials you like. I can also create original materials just for you! I love my students' English. There is no bad English. No one has bad English. If you can say "Hello.", that's great. If you can say "Nice to meet you.", that's great. The key is to own your English because it's yours! It's all about enjoying studying and getting better every day. One of my favorite haiku poets is Kobayashi Issa and this is one of his best poems. 蝸牛そろそろ登れ富士の山
Katatsumuri sorosoro nobore Fuji no yama Climb Mount Fuji, O snail, but slowly, slowly. This haiku has many meanings but one of my favorites is that Issa is telling even a snail, which is very slow, to slow down and enjoy climbing Fuji. It's the same with learning. Learning a language is like climbing Mt. Fuji. It's challenging and it takes time. Of course we want to improve every day but we have to make sure we look around and really enjoy the beautiful scenery, we should enjoy the new language we learn. Being a poet, I like to share my love of language with students so that they can experience more fully the joys of studying English. I am a people person and I use humor and a student-oriented approach to create a fun, comfortable learning environment. Your goals are my goals. I hope to meet you soon!

Hi! I'm a native British English, TEFL certified teacher and I specialize in IELTS (Academic + General), KS2 SATS English Preparation, Business English, Interview Preparation, CV & Document Editing and General Conversation Practice. Before teaching English, I worked in the finance industry in London. I’ve been teaching English for over 6 years (online & classroom) to professionals and students of all ages and backgrounds (from elementary kids and university students to teaching Business English to professional individuals) and I really, really enjoy it! I'm really flexible and a personable teacher and I strongly believe in making students feel relaxed (I know what it’s like to try and lean a new language!) I adapt my lessons so that you learn at your own pace as I think this is really important and I always try and make them as fun as possible! Thanks for reading and I look forward to hearing from you......

Hello & Welcome 😊 I’m Beki from the United Kingdom. I was born in the historic city of Bath, which is in the south of England. 🌞 I am currently living in Thailand so my timezone is in Bangkok time GMT+6. I teach every Saturday & Sunday + Friday evenings 🌞 ⭐Come and join me on my Facebook page at ' English Teacher Beki' for lots of English tips & tricks ⭐ My accent is a Southern English accent, very similar to the accent you’ll find in London. I studied in the British Music Conservatoire RNCM for 4 years before studying further to become a fully qualified School Teacher. In my spare time, I volunteer as a leader for Girl Guiding UK and I’ve listed my interests below. Interests: Travelling, French Horn, Piano, Girl Guiding, Crafts, Cats, Baking and Marvel Films. I enjoy making videos about my travels on my YouTube channel: https://www.youtube.com/bekitravels I also love making videos teaching people how to play brass instruments! https://www.youtube.com/c/TheBrassTeacher I love to write travel guides on my travel blog : digitaltourist.co I have over 3 years’ experience teaching English to non-native children and adults, both in person and online. I have taught students from all over the world from complete beginners to advanced learners. I am proud to have helped lots of Japanese, Chinese and European students learn a range of topics to improve their speaking, writing and reading abilities in English. A typical lesson with Beki: I can work with you to create a unique learning plan or we can use one of my pre-prepared courses. My lessons are both productive and fun! I believe this is the best way to create an effective and relaxed teaching environment. I am fully qualified to teach the following topics to Adult English students: • Conversational English • Proofreading Documents • Job Interview Preparation • Preparing Students for Music Conservatoires • Preparation for moving to the UK • Exam Preparation (Eiken, TOEIC, TOEFL, OPIc) • Custom Learning Plans I also love to teach fun and creative English lessons to children (4+ years): • Interactive whiteboard games • Story Time • Singing Songs in English! • Phonics & Sounds If you have any questions, please feel free to send me a message and I look forward to teaching you soon in a trial lesson! If you're confused about what a trial lesson is, these points will help you: ►THE TRIAL LESSON IS: - A 30 minute introduction class. - An opportunity for you to see how lessons with me work. - Time for you to ask me any questions. - A way for us to create a unique learning plan for you - A way to test your internet connection and check its strong enough for video & audio calls - A way to get to know each other better, learn about our hobbies etc ►A TRIAL LESSON IS NOT: - A free way for you to get your CV or written work corrected. - A lesson which is concentrated on your areas for improvement - A cheap way to get a 30-minute conversation class with the active intention of not continuing. If you have a trial lesson and you decide that I’m not the teacher for you, then of course that’s fine! 😊 Teacher Beki : ) Lesson Policy: Please read before booking lessons. * Lessons cannot be rescheduled 12 hours before starting unless there is an emergency. * This is because my schedule is filled usually a week in advance and sometimes even further in advance. If slots are unscheduled last minute this results in a loss of lesson time and lesson fees. *Other students are also unable to take these lesson times as they have previously been booked advance and therefore unavailable. *If you need to reschedule please do so with as much notice as possible so then we are respecting each other's schedule equally :)

My name is Karolina Thomoglou and I have been teaching English to both children and adults for over 17 years in various countries and organizations. With a great deal of blood, sweat and tears (!) I recently built my own online education company which had always been a dream and goal of mine. My love and passion for the English language has been a constant in my life and has over the years developed into a deep interest to help as many language learners reach their learning goals as possible. As an ambassador’s child, I had the privilege and joy of visiting and living in a number of incredible countries and living the life of a nomad! Being born in Switzerland and moving to Canada at the age of 3, English quickly became my native language. My parents, realizing that English would not only be an asset but a necessity growing up in various countries, chose to enroll me in American International schools throughout my school education. I have rich and beautiful memories of growing up in South Africa, Greece and as a young adult moving to Germany and then later The Netherlands. Over the course of these years, my love of the English language only grew and deepened, and at a very young age I embarked on the path that would eventually lead me to where I am today: a teacher who truly loves what she does! As a teenager, I first fell in love with the language through poetry and literature, immersing myself in the beauty of words that I felt could almost magically create new worlds and capture feelings. This led me to my own experimentations with poetry and writing which to this very day are things I enjoy dearly and are very important to me. I was fascinated at how language allowed people to communicate with one another, brought people closer together and managed to bridge incredible gaps. As time went by and I began moving from country to country I also very quickly understood how valuable English was as a language and as a tool. Being the only common language everyone spoke in many of the countries I visited, I realized just how incredibly important it was to have a grasp on the language if I wanted to truly communicate with and understand others. Fast forward twenty years and this is more vital than ever before. In a world led by globalization and one where the international language of commerce is English, having the ability to speak English is truly no longer an asset but rather a necessity. As a young adult in Germany, I came to the realization that I wanted to turn my passion for the English language into a career. From that moment on, I invested my time and energy into attaining my goal of becoming an English teacher. I took my first step by gaining my CELTA (Certificate in English Language Teaching to Adults) which then led me to my first teaching positions at language schools in Berlin. Over the years I taught both General and Business English in various companies including Wall Street School of English, Ebay Germany, Jaguar and Thyssenkrupp among others. I soon followed my certificate with an Advanced Diploma in Applied Linguistics and eventually a Masters in Education (Applied Linguistics), solidifying and expanding my knowledge on the foundations of the English language, how it developed over the years and how we can as teachers successfully help others learn the language. I continue to further educate myself at every opportunity, most recently completing the “Foundations of Virtual Instruction” course through the University of California. I realize that the face of education is rapidly changing and moving ever more towards online learning; more accessible and flexible learning. It is a trend that I believe will continue to develop over time, which is why I chose to focus on expanding my online teaching career. The other equally important reason for moving into online teaching was my interest in and desire to work with people from around the globe- what an incredible opportunity! Finally, I find myself after many years back in Greece realizing my long-term dream of starting my own business where I can share with others my knowledge of and passion for the English language. Nothing brings me more joy and fulfilment than helping others attain their language learning goals and supporting them through the often challenging but always exciting path of learning a new language. I always strive to make each students’ learning experience a unique one; one filled with support, patience and encouragement. I have had the fortune of working with truly wonderful individuals who have inspired me and continue to inspire me, and who remind me- though I never need reminding!-just why I became an English teacher. I hope that we will have the opportunity to meet and work together very soon. Sincerely, Karolina Thomoglou PLEASE NOTE: Last minute and same day cancellations will NOT be refunded unless there is an emergency situation. If you book a lesson and believe you won't be able to make it- please unschedule or reschedule it as soon as possible. Teacher will wait up to 15 minutes before opening the hour to other students. There are no refunds for missed lessons- if you think you will not make it in time- please inform me so that I may reschedule our lesson.

Hi My name is Kyle and I'm from the United States. I've been teaching English for more than 3 years. I completed my bachelors in Anthropology, and I'm TEFL certified. I teach dedicated students who are of intermediate-advanced level. My teaching style is relaxed, patient and engaging. I make lessons comfortable and interesting for students, but I also correct your mistakes and challenge you. As your English teacher, my goal is to help you reach fluency by giving you the guidance and feedback that you need, improving your English and increasing your confidence so that you'll be prepared for any situation! I emphasize: critical thinking, positivity, an open mind, curiosity and taking risk. We focus on exactly what you need to become a better English speaker, and I don't waste your time on things that aren't practical. Our classes are a place where you can speak freely about whatever you want. The more our conversations relate to your interest, the more you will learn. We'll also be using news articles, Ted Talks, videos, books, interviews and other materials that you'll watch/read/listen to outside of class. During class, we'll discuss what you've read/watched in detail. The details are important but often overlooked. The real conversation that we will have in each lesson is what's most important and valuable for you. Throughout are conversation you will receive feedback and corrections on words and phrases that you have trouble with, along with personalized suggestions on how to improve general fluency. In conclusion, I believe that learning a language is all about input and output. The amount of time that you spend listening, reading and speaking is going to directly affect the rate at which you are able to speak fluently. So, if you want to speak better, you have to speak more! There are no short cuts. I’m looking forward to speaking with you and helping you achieve your goals. Kyle

Hello there! I am an avid yoga teacher and language enthusiast. As a young child I began a love for reading and writing, so it gives me great joy to be able to share my language with the rest of the world. I studied English at Colorado State University, and worked as a teacher at bilingual schools for many years. Last year, I moved to Medellin, Colombia, where I received my CELTA certification from Cambridge University to teach English for adults. I have been working with business employees and executives ever since. I love creating warm, personal, classroom environments for you to feel comfortable learning in. We will work together on vocabulary and grammar points specific for your language goals. I look forward to meeting you and helping you on your own English learning journey.
